Baby Taryn has arrived!

Well, after many tears and doubt that the baby would actually be born, Taryn arrived 9 days late. (I was in such a big fight with her, that I even stopped talking to her.) My doctor was out of town and his partners were not very helpful. So when he came back into town I was at the hospital for my induction the next day.

I had Patosin(sp?)for a few hours and was feeling good. I was waiting for my epidural when my water broke. I was in a panic because I knew my real labor was about to begin and I didn't have any drugs to help cope with the pain. Let's just say it was possibly the longest 1/2 hour of my life waiting for the drugs.

An hour and a half later, with 1/2 an epidural (yes, it only worked on one side and they didn't have time to fix it. But let's face it...1/2 is much better than none.) Taryn was born. She was my biggest baby weighing 8 lbs. 12 oz. She was 21 inches long with a head circumference of 14 inches.

Taryn was my easiest delivery (due to the time of labor and other factors) and easiest recovery. I feel good despite the fact that I am leaking from my chest and bleeding from my bum. But hey, anything is better than being pregnant.

this is an awesome video! i have to admit, my hormones have been flying today and i got pretty choked up watching that. She is beautiful!!! and i can't help but think that 8 1bs 12 oz is pretty small for nine days late.. jake was 8 lbs 7 oz and he was a week early! so thank goodness you didn't have to birth a 12 pounder or something!! i hope you continue to recover well, and i'm looking forward to more updates and pictures of little taryn in the weeks to come! (cute name by the way :) ).

You have such cute kids and you've just added another adorable little girl into the picture! It's funny because I see delivery's daily so I start to forget what an amazing miracle it really is...thanks for reminding me! I'm so glad everything went well for you (despite the long wait). I can't wait to have mine soon! I hope your recovery continues to go well. We love you!

Taryn is a beauty, what a beautiful video, she will love that when she gets older and has a record of her entry to "my turn on earth" :) I agree with Tiffany, you look like you only pretended you just had a baby:) can't wait to see you guys again!

Oh bless you! Nine days late, that must have been miserable! (I do envy you just a tiny bit though ;) I'm glad you're feeling great already, I bet you're almost in your skinny jeans by now. Can't wait to meet her!

Oh Ashley!!! I guess your second video had to make me cry since your first one made me laugh so hard! :) What a special experience and a special video to go along with it! You have a gift for video and capturing the emotions that go along with the moment! Amazing! It really made me miss your whole family too! How did Trenton get so big and mature already? He's already a great big brother! (I agree with grandma that this will be amazing someday for Taryn...I also think someday when her big brother is teasing her it may come in handy...).

Oh Ashley.. I can't believe you'd rather be post-partum than pregnant. You are nuts. I'm so happy she's finally here. I'll admit, I was wondering if she had just decided she liked it better inside than out. I'm sad I wasn't there (though I know you wouldn't really have wanted company anyway - enjoying your alone time), but I can't wait to meet her and see you. Congratulations. I'm so happy for you guys. And jealous that Jade gets to see her before me. That video made me bawl. I wish I was pregnant with Peyton again. She's already too grown up. I can't wait for our girls to meet (or meet again, depending on how you look at it). Have a list of things I can do for you ready for when I get back Monday. I mean it. Love you guys. Holy long comment...

That was a lovely video you guys put together. It was awesome to feel apart of that wonderful day. I am even more excited to have my baby now. Thanks for the idea on the beautiful video. How do you do the scrapbooking pages? Is that digital scrapbooking? You'll have to tell me how to do that, I am so behind on scrapbooking. I can't wait to meet this new little girl. BTW we are having a boy. That means we have the complete opposite to you. Funny hu!
